This was a project to enhance the resolution capabilities of an existing image-processing DLL and to improve its performance. We created a program which can increase the DPI of a scanned image to any custom ratio. That is, the dots per inch in either the x or y directions of an image can be changed to any desired value. This program was based on modifications to a standard formula for making this kind of conversion.

Hand-held scanners generally scan only a 2" to 3" band of a document on each pass. To scan an entire document, the user must make several passes. This results in several separate scanned images on the computer's hard disk. Before these images can be treated as a single document, it is necessary to merge the individual images into a single image.

Logitech has software that merges these image bands into a single document. With the advent of Windows 95 and NT, there was a need to make this software 32-bit compatible and to improve its reliability and performance at the same time.

Logitech asked Eagle to perform this work for some of its existing software. This has been completed, and we have continued to improve the capabilities of this software from time to time, and requested by Logitech.

This system, written for Nikon, is essentially a postcard editing system. It allows the user to create a graphics document (in this case the front of a postcard) import images from a variety of graphics file types (e.g. TIFF, PhotoCD, etc.) into the document, organize and edit the images on the screen, and add text to the composite image.

This graphics "document" can be printed to any Windows-compatible printer, including color printers. Nikon sells a color printer which can be used for printing full-color postcards created with this system.

The system fully supports Japanese and English.
