AccountNow is a provider of financial solutions for US consumers who do not have established credit or traditional banking relationships. Among the alternatives to conventional checking accounts offered by AccountNow are Debit MasterCard cards and Pay Anyone bill payment. (See www.accountnow.net).

After evaluating several prospective software development firms, AccountNow chose Eagle Research to develop the website which would be the primary point of contact between AccountNow and its customers.

Eagle implemented the first version of this website in less than three months. Subsequently, the capabilities of the site were continually enhanced over the course of another seven months.

In additional to providing prospective customers with information about AccountNow and its products, this site supports most aspects of the acquisition and maintenance of AccountNow customers. In brief, the web site captures information filled out by a customer, confirms the validity of the customer's identity data with a business partner database, uploads card requests via encrypted FTP to a banking partner, and processes response files from the banking partner. Administrative editing and reporting is a significant component of the system.

This is an ASP.NET application with processing logic written in C#. An additional component of the overall system is a remote Windows application which monitors and displays a variety of statistical values for the site, and generates "alert" emails to technical personnel if the site violates any performance thresholds.

Asset Information Management System

Client

GMAC Mortgage Corporation

Language

Visual Basic

Operating system

MS Windows

Database

SQL Server

GMAC Mortgage Corporation manages large numbers of real estate loans on large commercial properties. This system handles virtually all of the information management for this process. This includes tracking collateral, periodic financial statements, monthly servicing data, and timely payment of insurance and taxes on the properties. For troubled properties the system provides the support needed for tracking the foreclosure process. This is a very large system, which generates many status and tracking reports, creates "tickler" items to help managers perform necessary tasks by required deadlines, and automatically produces various routine letters which must be sent to third parties for purposes such as requesting property information, informing them of events related to the property, etc.

Web Information System

Client

Western Pension Service Corp. / Ceridian

Language

HTML, Javascript, C++

Database

Btrieve

Other

Uses SSL encryption to prevent unauthorized access to account information.

This system was originally developed for Western Pension Service Corporation. Later, Western Pension was acquired by Ceridian Corporation. After the acquisition, Ceridian selected the Western Pension System as the foundation for going forward with its online retirement account reporting. Eagle continued working with Ceridian to provide enhancements to the original system.

When we originally developed this system, Western Pension provided consulting, record keeping and administrative services to companies who sponsor qualified retirement plans. Their clients ranged from small professional groups to large publicly traded companies. The Web Information System (WIS) is an interactive web site that allows secure access to retirement account information. Retirement plan participants use WIS to check the value of their assets, transfer funds and reconfigure their accounts. Investment return and loan payment modeling are also provided.

WIS takes advantage of database support associated with an existing interactive voice response account management system. Database updates and transaction requests from both systems (WIS and the IVR system) are processed using identical procedures.

This system tracks the status of vehicle title documents for automobile loans made by Bank of the West.

Originally written in Clipper several years ago, Bank of the West asked us to make significant changes to the system in 1995. As a result the system is much easier to use, and will be much easier to maintain as business requirements change in the future.

Credentials Services International, Inc. is an organization providing a credit report information service to consumers. When Credentials decided to offer three new services to their customers, Eagle was asked to design programs to support each of the services in a Windows/LAN environment. The resulting systems provide efficient data entry, import capability for existing mainframe data, a set of reports, unlimited comments and history records for each customer, and an export facility which supports filtering by any customer data element.

With Eagle's implementation of these programs, Credentials avoided a wait for the existing mainframe programs to be modified, and was able to offer the new services under an aggressive schedule.
